Bio

I was born and raised in Hokes Bluff Alabama. I attended JSU where I earned a BSed in 2004 and a MS in 2008. I am married, and my wife and I just recently celebrated our 4th anniversary. We have one son who will be turning 2 in September. I have been teaching math at Jacksonville High for the past fourteen years, and I am excited about my first year here at Piedmont High School. I have always enjoyed mathematics since I was a teenager and that interest led me into a career of teaching. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing a student succeed. Seeing that success is what drives me as an educator. Away from school I enjoy almost any outdoor activity. I enjoy hunting and  fishing. I enjoy landscaping and gardening. I also enjoy endurance activities such as running and cycling. I have competed in 9 marathons and 7 ultra marathons. I believe the motto I have adopted for participating in these events can be applied to any aspect of life: Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will keep moving forward.
